Life is complicated…

Today my husband is in the hospital.  I am in dress rehearsals for Tosca with Arizona Opera (chorus, but…).  I have 2 young daughters (ages 4 & 7).  I have a not-quite-full studio of voice students.  I have an audition coming up next weekend.  Life is insanely complicated right now.

But, I have to find ways to do it all.  I’ve found that I need it all to be happy & fulfilled.

I have missed a bit of rehearsals today.  I have fabulous in-laws who are taking care of my girls (& with whom I’m staying for the moment to make the childcare easier).  I’ve cancelled a few students & kept others on.  It’s all about making decisions & prioritizing.

So, I’m starting to talk about everything that I’m juggling in life right now.  I am TRYING to do it all, and thank goodness I have help!  I couldn’t do it alone, but I’m miserable if I’m only doing one of these joys of my life.  I’m that ADD person who is highly scheduled (because if I’m not, I get NOTHING done!).  So, I’m adding on blogging to my daily things to do list.

I’m going to try to post thoughts daily – sometimes it’ll be what’s on my mind that day, sometimes it’ll be one of my “soapboxes” of singing, teaching, life…
